When a young boy is murdered and his soul is transferred into his killer, his ways of showing love and affection to his one and only lover, who is being taunted by an old and dreadful enemy, is now frivolous. A love so strong that it transcends even death? Tristan, the young dead soul, violated the most valuable rule of being an angel, so he became a fallen angel. Being trapped in this body has made him a target of many people. Not only are the police after him, but his murderer is trying to finish what he started in the first place. Tristan is fighting for his love back but the only way to get it back is to clear Luke's name.
There are plenty of themes in this story but one that sticks out the most is not to get attached on love. Tristan and Ivy wanted their love but how? One, Tristan being half dead and half alive wasn't going to help them. Two, Ivy doubting her love with Tristan was wasn't going help, last but not least, Ivy had an old enemy, Gregory, trying to come for her that was not reluctant and quickly. She had no way of stopping him and Tristan didn't either. Well not that he knew of.
The setting of this story made the situation of vary. It really isn't a major setting to this book. I think that the author did not really put emphasis on a immediate setting or place. Even though there isn't any major setting, if the setting was in an strange unknown area, somewhat out in a forest then it would make it more interesting. It would make you wonder how did Ivy and Tristan get out of the car accident and how did people know what happened to them.
There is two major characters in this not so enjoyable book. Those characters are Tristan and Ivy(the main characters). The conflict of those two were that of Tristan dies and Ivy is not able to see him. Tristan is trying to get Ivy's love back and stay in a relationship with her while being soul trapped in his own murderer's body. There are important to this book because they make the book. They're basically all this book really talks about. Those two characters make you actually think.
This book starts out horrible. It starts off with a car crash and someone dying. Then it tries to make it seem romantic because Tristan comes as a fallen angel and he's trying to fight for his love with his girlfriend Ivy. That particular situation as the starting of a book will either make you not interested or make you wonder why. It made the book not as interesting as I thought it would be.
The author's syntax in this book was sort of okay but not as good as you think it would be. For example, on page 77 she says, "Will wore a poker face, but Ivy could see from the way his pencil dug into the paper that Chase had gotten to him." The way she didn't say directly that he was mad but by saying he had a poker face, you knew he was. On page 79, it states, "Kelsey rolled her eyes at Dhayna's contrived excuses." She was basically saying that Dhayna would always lie and made up too many excuses. Another example would be on page 80. It says, " To kill the body that was now Tristan's would be just as good as killing her." It was basically saying that if Tristan were to die in the body he was living through, Ivy would be torn into pieces. She would be even more heart broken.
The first major event that happened was the car accident and the fact that Tristan dies. It left alot of people hurt, confused, and heart broken. The second major event that happened was that Tristan came back as a fallen angel but inside of his murderer's body. That made him very upset because he had no way of actually being with his true love Ivy. The last but not least major event that happened was that the police was after Tristan's murderer and Tristan was inside of his body. That ruined a lot of chances of Tristan being able to be with Ivy in any type of way and fashion.
When I looked at the reviews about this book, I found that they were very similar to what I had in mind about it. Kari on goodreads.com says. "Not worth the time." She was right. This book will make you not want to read it after a certain point in it. Kari from goodreads.com also stated, "Not a good plot." Honestly, it was not a good plot at all. The plot of the story was based around a death and a soul. It was to unrealistic. Another review I saw was by Megan Durrence on goodreads.com. She says," Things have gotten so confusing." I completely agree with this one as well. You are confused the moment you open the book and read about the car accident. Why would she put that at the beginning of the book anyway. This book did not have my interest at all. I did not like it because it had a confusing situation. Then the death at the beginning, then having all the situations before the death after it made it even more confusing. I stopped reading after the first 60 pages.
So I know by now you're thinking so what and should I really read it. I honestly would not recommend this book. There are three reasons why. One, you're going to waste your time, two not a pleasant beginning, and three, you going to be confused on alot of things and the plot. When you read a book you want to be able to understand it or be able to fully comprehend. This was not one of those books.
